# Events

Sessions, workshops, talks, and meetups that P1 Compute runs or takes part in. Some bring
researchers and providers together, others are training, hands-on work, or a look at where the
field is heading. Each page carries the programme, the speakers, and what the session set out to
answer.

## Compute that serves science

Three principles guide the sessions we run, and they shape the questions in the compute needs
survey too.

### Empowerment first

Infrastructure is at its best when it gets out of the way. Every hour not spent fighting the
system is an hour spent on the science.

### Accountability in delivery

Racked nodes are a start, not a finish. Everyone gains when a system arrives as an environment
people can work in from day one.

### Integrity in architecture

Scientific computing is a long game. Systems designed around the people running the workloads
keep paying off well after the invoice is settled.

Getting there is a shared effort. Telling us about your workload in the
[compute needs survey](/survey/) is how everyday friction becomes something we can take up with
providers together.

## Sessions

- [Supercomputing: Agents & Challenges](/events/superagent-d3a/) (Thursday 8 October 2026): A 90-minute interactive session on keeping shared HPC productive for researchers, and where agentic GenAI opens new possibilities.
